AT&T Worldnet Service has teamed up with Panicware, the developer of Pop-Up Stopper and other pop-up control technology, to bring AT&T Worldnet members this #1 pop-up ad-blocking product on the market. How much does Pop-Up Stopper cost?
Pop-Up Stopper is available to AT&T Worldnet members for FREE. It retails for $19.95. AT&T Worldnet Service is offering this important feature in addition to anti-spam, anti-virus and other features to further enhance the Internet experience of our valued members. AT&T Worldnet members have anti-spam and anti-virus tools automatically enabled on their AT&T Worldnet accounts and, with Pop-Up Stopper, can control pop-up and pop-under ads during their Internet sessions. What are the system requirements for Pop-Up Stopper?
Pop-Up Stopper supports Internet Explorer 5.x - 6.x and Windows 95, 98, 98SE, ME, NT, 2000 and XP. How do I activate Pop-Up Stopper?
Download Pop-Up Stopper. Once you’ve downloaded the file, close all browsers and e-mail programs. Double-click the PopUpStopperPro.exe file to install the software. You should now see the Pop-Up Stopper toolbar in your Internet Explorer browser. If the toolbar does not appear, please select the View menu from your Internet Explorer toolbar, and then select Toolbars and the Panicware Pop-Up Stopper menu entry. The toolbar should now appear. I just installed Pop-Up Stopper and I don’t see the Pop-Up Stopper toolbar on my browser. What’s wrong?
Please note that the toolbar will only work with Internet Explorer 5.x - 6.x. Also, make sure you have downloaded and installed your software. If the toolbar does not appear, then in Internet Explorer, please select the View menu, then select Toolbars and then check the Panicware Pop-Up Stopper menu entry. The toolbar should now appear. If the toolbar is still not visible, click on the Internet Explorer Tools menu, then click Options, then click the Advanced tab and verify the "Enable third-party browser extensions (requires restart)" is checked. This option is available only in Internet Explorer 6.x and higher. If you check this option, please restart your browser. If the toolbar is still not visible, please make sure it is not pushed over to the far right of your Address tool bar. If it is pushed over, simply grab the words "Pop-Up Stopper" and drag them (the Pop-Up Stopper Toolbar) to the desired location. If you don’t see the words “Pop-Up Stopper” to the far right, move your mouse over the far right edge of the Address toolbar to catch the edge of the Pop-Up Stopper toolbar and then drag it. If you are unable to move the toolbar, make sure the toolbars are unlocked to allow the movement. Right-click on any toolbar and make sure the Lock Toolbars option is unchecked. How do I register Pop-Up Stopper?
During the installation process, you’ll be asked to give your e-mail address. Your registration/activation code will be sent to the e-mail address you supply. If you were unable to register during the Pop-Up Stopper set-up process, you can click on the Options button on the Pop-Up Stopper toolbar and select "Enter Registration/Activation Code” and enter the 14-digit number. If you don’t enter your registration/activation code, then the software will go into a 30-day trial mode. It will be fully functional but will stop working after 30 days. Can I review the pop-up ads that have been blocked by Pop-Up Stopper?
Yes. Under Options on the Pop-Up Stopper toolbar, click on “View Statistics” in the section titled “Pop-Up Statistics.” You’ll see a list of websites that generated pop-up windows during your Internet session and the number of blocked pop-up windows that came from the sites. How do I disable Pop-Up Stopper?
You have the ability to turn off Pop-Up Stopper from the tool bar using the On/Off button. You can turn it on again using the same button. Additionally, you have the ability to temporarily shut off Pop-Up Stopper. When you click on a website’s hyperlink and a window has been prevented from opening, simply hold down the Control Key and then click again on the link. You can also quickly click the link two times. Why do I see certain pop-up windows on AT&T Worldnet Service?
Pop-up windows can be a convenient way to communicate useful information or online content. AT&T Worldnet Service has pre-populated the “allow” list with certain non-ad pop-up windows that support particular AT&T Worldnet Service features or important customer service notices. Please try to avoid using the “Clear List” button on the “allowed” list so these pre-populated pop-up windows remain on the list. How do I make sure I see pop-up windows that contain useful information?
Pop-Up Stopper puts you in control of pop-up windows you want and don’t want to see with options that allow you to:
- turn off Pop-Up Stopper from the toolbar when going to a site where you may want pop-up windows to appear
- hit the Control Key to temporarily shut off Pop-Up Stopper and allow the useful pop-up window to appear
- add a site to the “allowed” list by hitting the “allow” list button (the + sign) on the Pop-Up Stopper toolbar while on the site
You can create an “allowed” list for websites where you want to see the pop-up ads. When you’re on the site, simply click on the button in the Pop-Up Stopper toolbar that’s an “add” or “plus” sign and the site will be added to the “allowed” list. How do I delete sites from my “allowed” list?
You can remove individual websites or clear the entire “allowed” list. Go to Options on the Pop-Up Stopper toolbar, click on Preferences and then Pop-Up Control. Under “Allowed Pop-Ups List,” click on “Select Web Sites” and make your changes. What if a pop-up ad window appears that should have been blocked?
Panicware, the company that provides AT&T Worldnet Service with the Pop-Up Stopper technology, works hard to keep up with the ever-changing technology of online pop-up advertising windows; however, if you visit a website where Pop-Up Stopper does not block a pop-up or pop-under ad, please report the occurrence at http://www.panicware.com/reportpopup.html Where can I get technical support for Pop-Up Stopper?
