Do I want cookies?
Some love them. Some hate them. What are they? Why do we use them? Below are answers to some questions about cookies.

Why does AT&T Worldnet Service use cookies?
We use cookies to provide personalized features, such as "My Weather." We also use cookies to control advertising views so you don't see the same ad over and over.

  What information do cookies contain?
Cookies contain information about your preferences for a particular personalized feature (i.e. the city for which you want weather reports). By using cookie technology for personalization features, your preferences are stored on your PC, not our server. We can not efficiently provide personalized features on our service without cookies. If we tried to use our servers to personalize, the pages would load much more slowly, compromising your web experience. Advertising cookies contain no personal information about you; they simply tell our advertising server what advertisements you have seen most recently. A unique user ID is assigned to each individual visiting one of our pages. The cookie contains this user ID in addition to which advertisement was most recently viewed.

  What about security?
The inventors of cookies are well aware that it is possible for someone to send security-compromising files or programs through the Internet. They designed cookies to provide a safe means for web sites to pass information to a user's PC while protecting the security of the user. As a results, cookies must meet strict design specifications to help insure that they are not being used in a security-compromising manner. If a cookie does not meet these specifications, your browser will automatically reject it.

  What about my privacy?
AT&T Worldnet Service believes fully in member privacy. That is why we DO NOT sell any member information nor track the web activity of our members. The Terms & Conditions of your AT&T Worldnet Account outlines our responsibility regarding your privacy. The cookies we place on your PC cannot read your hard drive, cannot determine your e-mail address, and cannot command your computer to perform any action. In our view, your web activity is your business.

  What control do I have?
Your best line of defense is knowledge. Learning about what cookies can and cannot do will help you make educated decisions about whether or not to accept them on your PC. Check out these links for more information on cookie technology:
